Frisby/Rothley Work Party
Broome A.S. Water officers Brian Toon and Terry Branston have asked me to pass on the following message
regarding the Work Parties:
Due to the good
turnout of members at the Work Parties this year, the last one, scheduled for Frisby Complex on June 15th, can now
be cancelled, as all tasks have been completed
All members can fish that
Sunday as normal.
Next week
(8/6/14) at Rothley on the river will be the last this year.
On behalf of Brian and
myself (Terry), we would like to thank everyone that has took part this year, given up their Sundays
and got stuck in.
So once again Thank You
Terry And
Brian.
Please don't forget that the next work party takes place on Sunday (8/6/14) at
Rothley, and the Lakes (the River is still closed due to the close season) will be CLOSED to ALL
anglers until 1pm. All other Lake venues will be open as normal.
The Work Party match was held on Colver with the result looking pretty much like last
weeks match on Lizzies . Malc Spring in first place and Den Porter taking
the runner-up spot! Both were on the southern end of Colver on the opposite end pegs Malc on 24 weighed in
with 65lb 8oz and Den, 57lb on peg 17. Dave Kimber took third place from peg 27 with 48lb
4oz.
Twelve fished and the weights were very close for the minor placings. Keith
Macfarlane taking Section 1 with 43lb 5oz from peg 11 and Mick Nash Section 2 from peg 37 with 44lb
14oz.

2014-2015 Membership Books
MEMBERSHIP BOOKS FOR THE NEW SEASON
Membership books for the new season (2014-2015) were sent out on Thursday 29th May to all existing members whose
renewals I received by Wednesday 28th. The books for new members were sent out on Friday 30th May so anyone who
sent their application forms in early and with a 1st class stamp should receive their books in time to start
fishing on Sunday 1st June. However please note the restriction at Frisby on Sunday due to the Work Party as
published in the news item on the 26/05/2014.
I'll try and deal with all further applications within a couple of days of receiving them.
If you don't receive your book, please wait a few days before contacting me in case it's just a delay with the
post.
Enjoy your fishing

Kilworth/Frisby Work Party's
There was a work party held at Kilworth Sticks Fishery last Sunday (25/5/2014). Once
again there was a good turn out and once again thank you for turning out on another pretty awful
morning. Thankfully the rain stopped and the sun came out later in the morning .

I'm sure it was working
last
year!!
You pull that way and I'll pull it this way....righto

Right... you get in the boat....you get in and help
him, I thought you were putting the kit
in!!
I'll stay here and direct operations!!

I could do with a cuppa after that fiasco....
The Work Party match was held on Lizzies Lake and Malc Spring had
a great afternoon netting an outstanding weight of 88lb 6oz to win the ten man Match with ease. Catching
on both Pole and Feeder. Den Porter finished in the runner-up spot with another good weight...52lb! Den netted
around ten Carp with the biggest around the 12lb mark.
Phil Dayman caught late on, on peg 1 to take Section 1 with 34lb 8oz. Section 2 went to
Mick Farmery with 46lb most of Mick's fish were caught in the margins on peg 18.

New Members Please Read
New members will
be soon, if not already, in possession of your new Membership Books. Unfortunately the day your Book
starts, Sunday June 1st, the Frisby complex will be closed to all anglers for a work party until
13.00hrs when the work party has been completed. Please do not come to fish before 13.00 hrs, as you
will be turned away.
This, obviously, applies
to existing members also, but new members will not have received the latest News Letter and may
not be aware of the Club Rule regarding Work Parties.
All other of our Lake
venues will be open as normal.
Thank You.

Crayfish from Smiggies
Gordon Cole had an unusual catch whilst on a pleasure session at Smiggies...Or is it
that unusual??? We have had reports of White Clawed Crayfish coming from Smiggies lake quite a few times
in the past couple of years.

Not to be confused with the American Red Claw Crayfish, the White Clawed British
Crayfish (as above) are a protected species and must be returned to the water
alive.
