Went to
Kilworth on 5.4.15 and set up on Lizzies with a 13ft float rod and centre pin reel to do a spot of Perch
fishing. It was quite a slow day with only 3 caught and, unfortunately, two lost. Two of the three I
caught were only small ones no bigger than a pound. The two I lost were, typically, much bigger, but, the
highlight of the day was landing a new PB of 3lb 5oz, my first ever ‘3’. Happy
days.

Went to Frisby on Sunday 22nd March. I set up my new John Wilson Avon rod, coupled with a centre pin reel on
Jason’s, with the hope of catching my first spring Tench.

My first fish turned out to be my first 2lb+ perch from the lake. It weighed 2lb 6oz and was caught on
worm.

The morning was pretty quiet after that, and I ended up moving swims. I caught my target species soon after. Only a
small Tench at 2lb 5oz but I was just glad to get one.

The rest of the day was slow,
with two carp coming to the net, until about 5ish, when I caught 5 more carp in 90 minutes. The
Tench and carp were caught on the lift method using prawn hook baits.
