Cost Cutter Match 13/2/25 This week's cost cutter match was held on Smiggies lake. As usual it was a bitterly cold day. Steve Lee came out on top with 6lb 4oz, followed by Martin Hutchinson with 4lb 4oz and Mick Farmery with 3lb 8oz. Next week's match will be on Colver. Mick Nash won with 5lb 12oz, second was Steve Lee with 3lb 15oz and third Dave Montgomory with 2lb 15oz. Weights were low due to the fact the Carp seemed to be in a feeding frenzy. Dozens were landed and even the winner had 12! Next week's match will be on Jason's, silvers only. Sad News We have received the very sad news that Mark Akiens has passed away. Mark was a long time Broome Member who enjoyed fishing the Matches and up until recently was an ever present at the draw, with some notable success! He would aways make himself available for thr Work Parties and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Condolences to all of Marks family and friends. Rest in Peace Buddy x. Cost Cutter Match 23/1/25 This week's cost cutter match was held on a bitterly cold Smiggies lake (what's new). Chris Shore won the day with 3lb, followed by Dave Kimber with 2lb 8oz and third Mick Farmery with 2lb 1oz. Next week's match is on Colver, silvers only. Cost Cutter Match 16/1/25 This week's cost cutter match was held on a bitterly cold, iced up Colver lake (silver fish only). Not surprising weights were low. Mick Norton and Mick Farmery came joint first with 6lb 3oz, and third was Chris Shore with 6lb. Next week's match will be on Smiggies, conditions permitting. Pike Match Cancelled Due to the current freezing weather the Sunday 12th January Match has been cancelled. The Match has been re-arranged for next week 19/1/25 when, hopefully the weather will have improved. Cost Cutter Match 8/1/25 This week's cost cutter match was held on a bitterly cold Colver lake (silvers only). The ice was that thick we could only fish a quarter of the way across, and even that proved difficult to clear. As you can imagine the fishing was rock hard. Mick Farmery came out on top with 10lb 8oz, followed by myself with 5lb 8oz and third Steve Lee with 4lb 5oz. Next week's match will be on Smiggies.
