Pike League 9/2/25
Jurassic

Thanks to Pete Felstread for the pike match report Also thanks to all
of the lads for their fantastic gesture
We made the
decision to donate our match kitty to the family of Mark Aiken aka “Tinny”, we raised £100 with
numerous members giving an extra donation to show their affection to a fellow friend and long-time member
of our angling society. Our condolences go to his wife Jo and family from us all.
We made our
draw, and anticipation was high as we had a dry day forecast with the chance of an odd shower. The water clarity
looked bang on compered to the last match.
Things didn’t
go to plan, with a few follows to the Lure and a few dropped runs, all was pretty quiet. Jason set the ball
rolling (consistent), but at only 2lb 4oz it wasn’t great.

Time went by
Tom had one at 5lb 12oz and Pete had a small one at 2lb 12oz, then as the match was in the last hour John had
the biggest of the day at 7lb 3oz. Jason had one almost at the same time but couldn’t take the lead from John
with his second fish going at 4lb 6oz for a total of 6lb 10oz.
There was a
bit of excitement when Jamie had the big pike snatch at his lure as his jerk bait was at the end of his
retrieve, missing the lure and leaving a large scale on the hook!!
