Special Fish

This is the page to display your special fish caught on Broome waters. No matter how big or small any fish of any species could be special.Your first fish of the season, your P.B, a particularly handsome looking fish. It does not matter. Send them in and we can display them here.

If you do catch a “Big’un”  you can enter it in to the Big Fish League if you so wish (Details at the bottom of the page)

Please note only fish that are being safely held off the gound or laying on a wet unhooking mat will be displayed.

The first entry of the season is a 2lb 2oz Barbel caught in the “After Work Party”  Match by Keith.

I caught a carp on Jurassic lake. It came in at 27lb.6oz, my method was 

Hair rig topped with a mesh stick with a few boilies over the area.

Rob Slater

A fine looking fish from Rob. Caught on BJ’s Lake and weighing in at 21lb 2oz.

Two fine fish for Richard that he has asked to be considered for the Big Fish League.

Both fish came from smiggies last Saturday while fishing with John and David Caunt the Crucian was 1lb.2oz and the Tench was 2lb.4oz.

I would like to enter my Tench into the big fish had it on a sanctuary 5.00 am on Sunday morning along with few other triple corn weighing in at 3lb… Had Kade Thomas with me and Rebecca Newton my wife.

Kade Thomas

Kade Thomas broke his PB on BJs Saturday afternoon in the rain storm with a 22 lb carp on triple corn soaked in plum juice.

Mitchell Baron

Mitchell broke his PB on BJs Sunday morning 6am with a great tench 6lb on a giant King prawn over a bed of cornmeal 6mill pellets and dark ground bait all so had four great carp around 20lb to 24lb.

Enteries for Big Fish List 2025-26 Season

In each season between 1st March and 28th/29th February, at the discretion of the Committee, a trophy will be awarded for the heaviest fish of each species caught by a member on rod and line in Society waters. Each entry must be weighed and witnessed by two other persons, or one other person if a photo is also sent. Details must be sent to steve.media@broomeanglingsociety.co.uk or Alan Smith the Secretary. No fish will be automatically entered into the list. Only fish that the catcher request’s be entered will be considered. Please return such fish alive to the water. 

The Big Fish competition is now up and running for then 2025-26 Season. So it is all clear again for enteries from 1st March 2025 until 28th February 2026.
