As usual there were the tangles, but in the main the day progressed without any major problems occurring. Midway through the session there were more and more of the larger Carp turning up to 3 1/2 lb with loads of smaller fish to boot.

In fact the two young girls who had attended seemed to be catching most of them. At the midway stage they had added well over 20 fish to their net and they were still catching well albeit only small fish.

The helpers as usual were enabling the children to catch the fish with a variety of different tactics ranging from fishing up in the water to on the bottom with waggler and whip set ups. Maggot and squeezed sweetcorn on the hook were accounting for most of the fish although some were being taken with meat and bread.
