Christmas match and not a bit of ice insight! It was dry and sunny; water was clear and back to normal levels.

All looked well for a perfect day! But again, the Pike hadn’t read the script!! Pete Felstead did have a Pike follow in his lure with in the first few casts, but with the clear water he made the school boy error of standing to close to the water’s edge! And spooked it before he realised it was behind the Lure. With a boil of water as he moved the rod it was chance gone!

Pete was still first of the mark with a 6lb 7oz fish.

Dave followed with a 5lb 7oz fish. No other runs were happening. Pete moved around and after covering a lot of water he managed a nice fish at 11lb 8oz a hour before the end of the match.
Jamie managed to take second place in the last haft hour with a 5lb 10oz and that was it! Not the best of days with only Three anglers getting any action!

1st Peter Felstead 6lb7oz and 11lb 8oz Total 17lb 15oz
2nd Jamie Ferguson 5lb 10oz
3rd Dave Caunt
John, Rich, Alex, Mick, Tomas, and Guntis didn’t catch this time
Merry Christmas all and a fishy new year.
Cheers Pete
