The progress so far On Sunday 16th February, Tom and Shawn were at Kilworth on Lizzies and Tom made his first attempt at his challenge number 4, to catch a Perch of 2lb 12oz or bigger. Unfortunately, Tom was unsuccessful in this attempt and no Perch fell to his rod. Tom still has two attempts at this as per the conditions of this challenge.

Sunday 30th March, Shawn and I went to Kilworth and I made my second attempt at my Perch Challenge. Unfortunately, I did not achieve the required weight. I could only manage 3oz short with a biggest fish of 2lb 9oz (which was only witnessed by Shawn so can’t make a Big Fish claim either.) My next attempt will now be December as per challenge conditions.
In total, though, I did manage just over 6lbs of perch (so Shawn has got no excuses for his Perch Challenge as I’ve proved it’s plausible.) I had 5 perch altogether with fish of 2lb 9oz, 1lb, 8oz, 1lb 10oz, and 6oz in that order. Unfortunately, I lost 3 before I caught the first one and then another later in the day.
I also had a bonus Carp and a couple of Roach.
