Above, are some of Dans recent catches on our waters.
Recently had a day session on Meadow Lane at Syston and caught this 8lb 8oz Bream, A P.B. for me.
I caught it on three pieces of sweetcorn, fishing to the sunken island.
Last Sunday I went to Kilworth Sticks on Currans Loop, it
was the first time I fished the complex so I had no idea what to expect. I fished the right side of the
bridge, peg 30 I think. The day started slowly with just Roach and Bream, another angler told me these back pegs
weren't fishing well but I decided to stick with it. The sun came out with a few Carp surfacing so I changed
tactics and threw in some floating dog biscuits. After getting them feeding confidently I managed to catch some
Carp around 2-4lb, then I managed to land a stunning mirror at 8lb. Turned out to be a very good
day.
I caught these two fish from Syston last summer (2013), I wasn't fishing for anything specific, just what I could
catch using maggot.
The float went under, it felt like a small Roach or Perch with a little head shaking... As I was lifting
my rod out next to the lily pads, this Pike shot out and I managed to land it as the hook set on the outside of
it's jaw. Weighing at 12lb 8oz pb for me.
The Common Carp was caught on the same day using floating dog biscuit weighing at 13lb 6oz.
