Colver Lake
Colver Lake is on the right hand side of the complex as you enter.
Colver was the first lake to be dug out by Broome, and in doing so we could have it how
we wanted it. Cars are parked in the main car park for this lake and you can reach the water by
footpaths from the center of the car park or from either end. Colver holds a very large head of Carp
from under 1lb up to about 3lb with the odd 6lb'er. There are a large number of silver fish in the lake
too, including Roach, Rudd, Bream, Chub and Barbel, but you may also catch a suprise!!
What's in a Name?
Colver was named after the late David Colver, Broome Angling Society Chairman and President for
many years. David was a member of Broome for about 25 years and a committee member for almost 20 of
those. We found this a very fitting way in which to remember him.
