To All Members,

I have had notification from Fishery owner At Kilworth.

The track down to the Broome Car Park is being worked on today (Monday 19/10/26).
A notice has been put up informing Members to use the Farm Entrance, proceed past the Weighbridge as if heading for Lizzies. Go through the double gate. This will be, hopefully, completed today. But if not, it will be the same procedure Tuesday (20/10/26).

1st match of the 26/27 season. We met up for the draw at 7.45am. The coldest day of autumn at 3 degrees and a heavy dew on the grass but clear skies.

It didn’t take long before the first action of the day. Casting a weighted Pike fly along the margin, Pete Felstead thought he was into a bit of weed!  He pulled on the fly only to see a Pike holding the fly and a boil of water as the fish let go.

Back to the car for his polarised glasses, Pete thought that may have meant not losing that fish if he had them on in the first place! A change of lure and take number two all in the first 10 minutes.

On the next change of lure, the forgiving Pike sticks, and fish one on the bank. That was the start of a “red letter” day for Pete with one lure unlocking the predators on the day. Pete reckoned he must of had at least 12 missed takes! He still ended up with 7 fish on the bank for a total weight of 33lb 7oz.

Unfortunately, not everyone was getting the same action with only three other fish caught on the day. Tomas having the best fish at 9lb 2oz and Jamie getting one in the last 15 minutes. Tom taking one on a wobbled dead bait.

Pete did get a bit of friendly banter as he unhooked one fish and two cast later was in again!! “that’s enough Pete” and “Ain’t it time you went home”

1st Peter 5lb + 3lb 5oz +6lb1oz+6lb +4lb 12oz + 5lb 2oz+ 3lb 3oz= 33lb 7oz

2nd Tomas 9lb 2oz

3rd Jamie 5lb 8oz

4th Tom 2lb 10oz

John and Alex didn’t catch this time.
