 Keith Takes Double Header

There were eighteen starters for Round Three of the Chairman's League, nine on Jasons and nine on Colver. With the extra room on Jasons it allowed it to fish better, and considering how clear the water was. It was Jasons that provided the top weight on the day.

Keith Macfarlane wasn't too happy about drawing peg 13 at the start, as last time on Jasons he drew 14 and it was a real struggle. Not so this time, as he was into Carp from the first put in!! Fishing with Skimmers in mind Keith started on lightish tackle, But it was the Carp that took a fancy to his Pellet hook bait. Long Pole tactics saw him put about fourteen Carp in the net plus a few Skimmers for an impressive 61lb 1oz to take top spot.

Second place went to Geoff Harper on peg 1. It was another good weight as his 48lb 9oz would have won a good few recent matches on Jasons. Geoff switched between Pole and Feeder to keep his fish coming. With peg 4 not pegged Chris Crane on peg 7 thought he had a decent chance, and so it proved. Fishing Long Pole Chris took third place on Jasons with six Carp for 33lb 12oz.

Den Porter pulled out the ever popular peg 21 and used it to good effect winning Colver with 54lb 10oz. He thought he had missed out as it was very close between him and Paul Edwards for the top spot. Paul, though, was just 1lb 3oz short of Den with 53lb 7oz from peg 31.

Steve Roberts completed the money winners taking third place on Colver with 42lb 15oz from peg 46. A good weight on the day from a peg that hasn't been producing much form in recent matches.
